Akoko benefits from extensive historical work and is strategically positioned close to major operating gold mines and established infrastructure.

The project hosts a defined gold resource in oxide material that is believed to be well suited to low-cost open-pit and heap-leach mining, offering Hamak a clear pathway to near-term value creation.

Project highlights

Ghana’s gold production is expected to increase by around 6.25% to approximately 5.1 million ounces in 2025, up from the previous year’s record output of 4.8 million ounces. Much of this production coming from mines in the Western Region where the Akoko Project is located.

Positive Due Diligence completed on Akoko Gold Project in Ghana

Following the accelerated completion of a comprehensive due diligence programme, Hamak is proceeding with work towards the acquisition of the Akoko gold project which is located in the world-renowned Ashanti gold mining belt of southern Ghana.

  • A 4,250m reverse circulation (“RC”) drilling campaign is planned to establish a JORC-compliant gold resource
  • Metallurgical test work to be undertaken on bulk samples to determine likely gold recoveries
  • An independent Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) will follow to establish the economics of a potential future mining venture
  • Acquisition cost of Akoko is approximately US$10/oz, to be satisfied in a combination of cash and Hamak shares

Upcoming drilling programme

The upcoming drilling programme is designed to confirm and enhance confidence in the existing gold resource, while testing for potential extensions and additional mineralised zones.
